WIMBLEDON 2023 MEN’S SEMI-FINAL LINE-UP:
18.30
GAME, SET AND MATCH! - ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 6-4 RUNE
Carlos Alcaraz is into his first Wimbledon semi-final after downing fellow 20-year-old starlet Holger Rune in two hours and 20 minutes.
The first two sets were tight affairs, but the top seed surged away in the third as the Dane ran out of steam.
World No.1 Alcaraz served it out to 30 on his fourth match point and will now meet No.3 seed Daniil Medvedev in the last four.
18.25
ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 5-4 RUNE
More grit from Rune as he swats away match point and forces the Spaniard to serve it out with a 1-2 punch and another clutch serve.
Alcaraz will now serve for a spot in the semis.
18.21
ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 5-3 RUNE
The crowd briefly ignites and engages with Rune as he scorches a sensational return winner to give Alcaraz pause for thought.
That’s all it is, however, as the Spaniard maintains his break advantage by finishing off a game to 15 with an excellent body serve.

18.17
ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 4-3 RUNE
Rune continues to battle hard, shrugging off a tepid forehand miss for 30-30 with some clutch serves to stay in touch for now.
18.13
ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 4-2 RUNE
Rune snares the first point of the game but it proves to be a false dawn as Alcaraz surges through the next four to consolidate and take what may well be a significant step towards victory.

BREAK! - ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 3-2 RUNE
Will that be it for Rune’s challenge?
The Dane suddenly looks like the energy has been drained right out of him. Alcaraz takes full advantage, pushing away a volley to earn two break points and then roaring with delight once again when Holger can only dump a backhand into the net.

18.05
ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 2-2 RUNE
It’s been a match of very fine margins. Rune probably feels he’s a tad unlucky to be two sets down with the majority of the contest being dominated by the server.
It’s the same again here as Alcaraz nails aces three and four of the match as well as his umpteenth forehand winner to rampage to a love hold.
18.02
ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 1-2 RUNE
Alcaraz follows suit as he polishes off a volley to claim a clean hold and get on the board.
The Spaniard goes on the offensive in Game 3 but Rune flashes away a forehand winner at 15-30 down and then clutch serving ensures the Dane maintains the scoreboard advantage early on in Set 3.
18.00
GAME, SET AND MATCH!- MEDVEDEV 6-4 1-6 4-6 7-6 6-1 EUBANKS
Daniil Medvedev secures a spot in the semi finals at Wimbledon as he ends Mallorca champion Chris Eubanks’ underdog adventure after a two-hour and 57-minute topsy-turvy tussle.
Medvedev will now meet Alcaraz or Rune in the last four.
17.57
ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 0-1 RUNE
It’s a tall order for Holger to win this match from here but he returns from a bathroom break with a clear head and blitzes through a clean hold to grab the scoreboard advantage.
17.51
ROUND-UP: ARYNA AND ONS PROGRESS AS CHAMPION RYBAKINA BOWS OUT
Ons Jabeur fought back from a set down to beat defending Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in a three-set thriller on centre court while Aryna Sabalenka sinks Madison Keys.
17.47
SET! - ALCARAZ 7-6 6-4 RUNE
The World No.1 moves to within a set of the semi finals as he serves out Set 2 with a confident hold to 15.
17.45
BREAK! - ALCARAZ 7-6 5-4 RUNE
There was certainly an element of the calm before the storm about all of those easy service holds – and at the business end of the set the action ignites!
Rune plays catch up from 15-30 but then blows a smash to cough up the break point. Alcaraz takes advantage by steering away a backhand winner and he will now serve for a two-set lead.
17.42
ALCARAZ 7-6 4-4 RUNE
Rune scorches a superb return and then makes up some serious ground to force a slice error from Alcaraz with another rasping forehand on the run.
It’s all to no avail as it came at 40-0 and the top seed quickly finishes the job on the next point.
17.41
MEDVEDEV SNATCHES THE DOUBLE BREAK AS EUBANKS APPEARS TO FADE
The No.3 seed appears to have come through a torrid spell and now has the double break in the decider on No.1 Court.
Medvedev leads 6-4 1-6 4-6 7-6 3-0 and has his sights firmly set on a place in the last four now.
17.37
ALCARAZ 7-6 3-4 RUNE
The server reigns supreme once again as Holger rattles down his second ace of the match to put an emphatic full stop on a love hold.
