Atletico in talks for David - Report
Atletico Madrid are in talks with Juventus over a season-long loan move for striker Jonathan David, according to The Athletic.
The Spanish side had previously explored a move for Nicolas Jackson, but the striker's transfer from Chelsea to Aston Villa has seen Atletico turn their attention to David.
The 26-year-old Canada international is being targeted to bolster Atletico's depth at centre-forward rather than replace any of the forwards already at the club.
Talks are ongoing as Atletico look to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes.

Boreham Wood confirm record sale
Djurgarden have completed the signing of 23-year-old winger Abdul Abdulmalik from National League side Boreham Wood.
The Swedish club have agreed an initial £1.5 million fee for the attacker, making the transfer a record sale for the fifth tier of English football.
It surpasses the previous record held since May 2012, when Leicester City signed Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood Town, then a fifth-tier side, for an initial £1 million.

Camara next in at Chelsea?
Chelsea have reached an agreement with AS Monaco to sign midfielder Lamine Camara, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The deal is understood to be worth €45 million including bonuses, with only a few details still to be settled, notably the payment structure. Camara is expected to complete his move to Stamford Bridge in the coming hours.
The 22-year-old has established himself as one of Ligue 1's standout midfielders since joining Monaco from Metz, making 75 appearances across all competitions. He has contributed six goals and 11 assists during his two seasons with the club.
Camara has also become a regular for Senegal, earning 37 international caps and featuring at both the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup. He has scored five goals for his country.

Brighton step up Azeez chase - report
Brighton & Hove Albion are preparing to intensify their pursuit of Millwall winger Femi Azeez before the transfer window closes, according to The Athletic.
The Seagulls have already submitted two formal bids for the 25-year-old, with their latest offer understood to be worth just over £10 million.
Millwall consider that figure well below their valuation of Azeez, but Brighton remain hopeful of reaching an agreement before Tuesday’s deadline.

Folarin Balogun wants to join Everton, according to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri.
The Toffees have submitted an €18 million proposal to Monaco for the United States striker and are pushing to reach an agreement, with Balogun already understood to have agreed personal terms with Everton.
Balogun was absent from Monaco's matchday squad to face Marseille on Sunday ahead of a potential transfer ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

Danso to Sunderland back on?
Sunderland have reopened talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a permanent deal for defender Kevin Danso, according to BBC Sport.
Spurs have reportedly already rejected a loan proposal from the Black Cats for the Austria international.
Sunderland have since returned to the negotiating table and are now discussing a permanent move for Danso. Personal terms are not expected to be an issue should the two clubs agree a fee.
Talks between the clubs are progressing, although no agreement has yet been reached.
Spurs are likely to want a replacement in place before sanctioning Danso’s departure, with manager Roberto De Zerbi keen for any new defender to have Premier League experience.
Danso initially joined Spurs on loan from Lens in January 2025 before the move was made permanent later that year, with Tottenham paying the French club £20.9 million.

Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli is set to sign a four-year contract until 2030 with Al Hilal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Farke optimistic on more signings
Leeds manager Daniel Farke is ”carefully optimistic” the club can make one or two more additions before the transfer window closes, with the German keen to further strengthen his squad.
Leeds have already spent £86.7 million on five players this summer, including a club-record £40 million on goalkeeper James Trafford, and have taken four points from their opening two Premier League matches.
Fiorentina are interested in Wilfried Gnonto, but Leeds are only prepared to sanction the winger’s departure if they can secure a replacement.
Speaking after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford, Farke said: ”I’m carefully optimistic.
”I know everyone behind the scenes works very hard to give us the best possible squad. We also have to work with limited resources, we want to work sustainably and won’t do any crazy things.
”It’s not that easy to bring in quality that really helps us, but, of course, one or two additions would be beneficial to us.”

Alonso offers no Enzo guarantee
Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has refused to guarantee that Enzo Fernandez will remain at the club beyond Tuesday’s transfer deadline, with the midfielder’s future still uncertain amid interest from Manchester City.
Fernandez was left out of the squad once again for Chelsea’s 4-3 victory over Brighton, as speculation over a potential move to the Premier League champions continues to gather pace.
Asked about Fernandez’s future after the game, Alonso said Chelsea were preparing for all eventualities ahead of the deadline.
”We’ll see. We want the best for the team. That’s why we made the decision against Luton and today,” the Spaniard said.
”Anything that happens before Tuesday evening, we need to be aware of what is going to develop.
”We are not sure. We are preparing for all the scenarios, but I am sure that whatever happens from Wednesday, we will have a good enough squad to compete in all the Premier League games.”

Watkins pens Villa farewell
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has penned an emotional farewell to supporters after sealing his move to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal.
Watkins, who is expected to be joined by Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli at his new club, wrote: "Six amazing years have come to an end.
"Thank you for the amazing memories and always supporting me through highs and lows. Saying goodbye is never easy to this club as it’s been a massive part of my life on and off the pitch. Once a Villan, always a Villan."

Richarlison's cryptic Insta post
Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has posted a cryptic message on Instagram ahead of a possible return to Everton.
The Brazilian has been told he is free to leave Spurs this summer, with a move back to Merseyside on the cards.
Reports on Sunday suggest that The Toffees are willing to pay £35million in order to re-sign Richarlison, who left Everton for Spurs in 2022.
The first image on the post itself showed the player adopting the 'thinking' emoji, while the second image is written in Portuguese, and translates to: "I am the victim of many poorly told stories."
Richarlison isn't the only player who may yet leave Spurs before Tuesday's deadline, with Pape Sarr set for a loan move to Juventus.
Defender Kevin Danso is also the subject of interest from Sunderland and Aston Villa.

Liverpool are weighing up a move for Belgian teenage goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans as a potential replacement for Nottingham Forest target Giorgi Mamardashvili, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Nottingham Forest are weighing up a move for Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, according to Matteo Moretto.
The Tricky Trees are hoping to bring in a new shotstopper before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
They were rebuffed in their efforts to sign Dean Henderson from Crystal Palace over the weekend.

Van Dijk: 'He'll be welcomed with open arms'
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has admitted that Bradley Barcola will be "welcomed with open arms" once a deal to sign the Frenchman is completed.
The Reds are set to land the Paris Saint-Germain star before the transfer window closes on Tuesday as the Merseyside outfit look to bring in another forward.
And while Liverpool are yet to announce Barcola's arrival, Van Dijk would be the first to greet the France international.
"He’s a very good player. If he comes he’ll be welcomed with open arms but until it’s there, there’s no point speaking about it now, and it’s not there," the centre-back said.
Van Dijk also revealed that he wants Cody Gakpo to remain at the club, , with the Dutchman set to leave Anfield for Manchester City.
"He’s a quality player and I think we should keep quality players, but let’s see what the next three days bring," the 35-year-old continued.
"Obviously it’s pretty clear that I want him to stay, not only because he is the quality player that he is, but also he’s a friend of mine and I think he will be very important for us."

Hull City are set to miss out on French winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Tigers and Eintracht Frankfurt had verbally agreed a deal for the 21-year-old that would have seen Bahoya move to the MKM Stadium before Tuesday's deadline.
However, Bahoya isn't keen on leaving Eintracht for Hull, meaning the transfer is currently off.
Bahoya may yet leave the German side before the transfer window closes, with a number of Premier League teams reportedly keen on the young wideman.

Al Hilal are on the cusp of signing Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move away from The Emirates Stadium this summer, but rejected the chance to sign for Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray.
However, Martinelli is now set to move to the Saudi Pro League outfit for a reported €65million.
The 25-year-old has been granted permission to jet to the Middle East before penning a long-term deal with Al Hilal.

Barcelona are closing in on the signing of Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Jesus was expected to leave the 2025/26 Premier League champions this summer, having dropped behind Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokores in the pecking order.
The former Manchester City forward is now expected to sign for the Spanish giants ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline with his medical pencilled in for Monday before signing a two-year deal with the option for a further year with the Blaugrana.
The 29-year-old is set to become Barcelona's eighth summer signing, and follows Anthony Gordon and Rodri from the Premier League to Spotify Camp Nou.

Munoz undergoing Nottingham Forest medical
Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz is undergoing his medical at Nottingham Forest ahead of a summer switch to The City Ground, according to reports.
The Colombian is on the cusp of swapping south London for Nottingham after The Tricky Trees agreed to pay £22million for Munoz.
Forest boss Oliver Glasner is keen to reunite with the 30-year-old, the Austrian having succeeded Vitor Pereira in Nottingham following his Crystal Palace exit at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The Eagles have already brought in Anan Khalaili from Belgian side Union St. Gilloise to replace Forest-bound Munoz.
