GAME, SET AND MATCH! - ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 4-6 ZVEREV
Alcaraz grins and puts his hands on his hips. It’s out of context with the situation as he drills a make-able backhand long to offer up … MATCH POINT ... after some insane defence had initially kept him alive.
Zverev nails a huge first serve to get it done to 30 and he finally books his spot in the last four following a three hour and six-minute epic.
It’s the German’s first Top Five win at a major and he will now meet Daniil Medvedev in the semis.

BREAK! – ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 4-5 ZVEREV
Alcaraz hit a purple patch to take the third-set breaker – and now it’s Sascha’s turn.
The German was pure clutch in that previous game and he carries it on here, taking advantage as Alcaraz’s first serve goes AWOL.
The No.6 seed's groundstrokes are too deep and powerful to contain and he delivers a HUGE blow on the first of two BPs with a pass up the line that Carlitos can only flick into the net.
The Olympic champion will now serve for the match for the second time.

ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 4-4 ZVEREV
This match is hitting some heights right now.
It’s high stakes and both players are producing moments of brilliance.
Alcaraz is a blur as he works his way back from 40-0 down to deuce where it really hits a peak.
Zverev pops away a volley and raises his hand aloft in triumph after a sensational all-court rally, but Carlitos hits back with an audacious backhand pass that clips the rear edge of the baseline.
The German must feel he is having to win rallies three-times over such is the upsurge in Alcaraz’s movement, but he does enough at the net again to pull off an important hold.

ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 4-3 ZVEREV
Alcaraz unleashes one of those jaw-dropping forehands down the line that is almost peerless with its sudden pace and precision.
It paves the way for an assured hold to 15 as his all-round game has somehow tightened up and made this match a very different proposition.

ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 3-3 ZVEREV
Zverev doesn’t like the script being re-written in front of him and follows up a lovely, deep backhand volley with a seventh ace to level once more via a hold to 15.

ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 3-2 ZVEREV
Zverev chases down an Alcaraz drop shot and eventually punishes his opponent's weak lob with a smash.
However, it does not stop the Spaniard from deploying one of his favourite shots soon after and this time he executes with aplomb.
It’s steely tennis from there from the World No.2 as he polishes off two quick points to keep his nose in front.

ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 2-2 ZVEREV
‘Beautiful serving,’ declares Kyrgios as Zverev lashes down a succession of powerhouse first serves and a sixth ace of the day to pull level on the board for the loss of one point.

ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 2-1 ZVEREV
There’s the shake of the racquet and the long look at his team that has become a feature of an Alcaraz match. It usually follows a confident hold and demonstrates his belief that he’s feeling good about his tennis.
That’s a bad sign for Zverev who is lacking the same conviction now, particularly off his forehand, and Alcaraz comfortably eases through a game to 15 to hit the front.

BREAK! – ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 1-1 ZVEREV
On Eurosport Comms, Kyrgios and Lester both remark that there is a tangible difference in Alcaraz on the return and he is finally getting a read on some of the German’s powerhouse deliveries.
A rasping backhand return proves their point as he chalks up two break back points. Zverev saves one but then dumps a volley into the net off an attempted pass and Carlitos bites straight back!

BREAK! – ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 0-1 ZVEREV
Zverev has had to listen to the crowd erupting as his opponent hit halcyon heights, but he’s stayed calm, reset his mind and it pays immediate dividends.
A scorching backhand down the line helps him make 0-30 before he somehow outfoxes the Spaniard in a volley-off at point-blank range at the net.
Alcaraz saves one BP but miscues the forehand on the second and the German checks the two-time major winner’s growing momentum.

SET! – ALCARAZ 1-6 3-6 7-6 ZVEREV
Where has this come from?
Alcaraz hits top form from nowhere, pulling off a succession of stunning passes to take seven points in a row and seal the breaker by a 7-2 scoreline.
Zverev had no answer despite playing pretty well in the TB and all of a sudden this match is ON!

TIE-BREAK LATEST: ALCARAZ 4-2 ZVEREV
Alcaraz goes on the attack but with the opening point on his racquet he completely fluffs a crosscourt dropper into the net.
Zverev resists again to force a back-pedalling forehand long, but Alcaraz follows up a big serve by snaring the mini break back with a superb forehand pass.
The Spaniard is at it again on the next point as he charges to his right to pull off another pass off his favoured wing on the run.
The momentum is with the No.2 seed and he thunders away a smash to take four points in a row heading to the change of ends.
